Usher Board

Mission Statement:

Our primary purpose is to welcome every worshiper. We assist in the teaching and maintaining of church decorum. Ushers distribute bulletins, provide giving envelopes, collect the offering and serve during worship services, funerals, special meetings and celebrations.

 

Women of Divine Purpose

Mission Statement:

Our mission is to live our faith and fellowship by building inter-generational relationships that allow all women to believe and belong as we minister to the needs of women of Greater Mount Calvary Missionary Baptist Church (GMC) and our community in an inclusive sacred space through our worship, witness and work together.

 

Deacon Board

Mission Statement:

Deacons exist to serve God and the church. Our mission is to assist the Pastor and assist with certain congregational activities and lead congregation in support of the Pastor.

 

Trustees

Mission Statement:

The Trustee Ministry has been directed to provide an account of the tithes and offerings at Greater Mount Calvary Missionary Baptist Church (GMC). With spiritual sensitivity, the Trustee Board members will honor the trust bestowed upon them by conducting all business on behalf of the church in a fair, honest and prudent manner. We will provide an account to the pastor, church office and when needed, Church Ministries in a clear and concise manner. We accept the responsibility and are accountable to God and the congregation for the proper administration of our stewardship duties.

 

 

Prison Ministry

Mission Statement:

Our mission is to “remember those who are in prison” (Hebrews 13:3). We seek to accomplish this mission through education, outreach, pastoral care and working with our youth to stop the cycle of incarceration. Our members correspond with prisoners through letters, cards, visits and worship services.

 

Christian Education

Mission Statement:

Christian Education consists of two areas: Bible Studies and Sunday School. Bible study classes are conducted on Wednesdays at 7:00 p.m. Sunday School is every Sunday at 10:00 am (9:30 am every 2nd Sunday of each month).

 

Married Couples

Mission Statement:

Married Couples of Greater Mount Calvary Baptist Church coming together to celebrate and strengthen marriages in Christ through prayer, Bible study, fellowship and shared experiences.

 

Praise Dancers

Mission Statement:

To praise and worship the Lord through liturgical dance. The Bible tells us to praise Him with the timbrel and dance, and we strive to have every dance in harmony with His Word. It is our mission and prayer that each dance uplifts and encourages those that are heavy laden and joyous. God inhabits the praises of His people, and we hope that all desire to join us in praising God through dancing.

 

Hospitality

Mission Statement:

To create a spirit of hospitality for all, and to serve the GMC family and our guests as we continue to serve God.

 

 

 

Men’s Fellowship

Mission Statement:

To bring the men of GMC and all other men together in spiritual fellowship, for the enhancement and enrichment of our lives in the church; and to provide a positive role model for our youth, especially young men.

 

Youth Ministries:

 Children Church (ages 3-8), Youth Church (ages 9-12), and Teen Church (ages 13-18)

Mission Statement:

To unapologetically acknowledge the Lord Jesus Christ and set the example for other young people within the context of their generation and culture.

 

Nurse Aides

Mission Statement:

To serve the GMC family and our guests as we continue to serve God as servants-leaders in communion service, baptismal service, weddings, funerals and ordination services.

 

Pastoral-Aides

Mission Statement:

To serve God and the church by supporting the Bishop’s initiatives, physically and financially.

 

Crusaders

Mission Statement:

Endeavors to create a caring community of believers experiencing God and doing ministry together. That means we support each other during the good and bad times in life. The Word of God is clear that we are to care, love and serve one another, which makes our Comfort & Care Ministry essential to the body of Christ.
